The wines bearing the Gérard Bertrand signature share a common identity: with their balance and elegance, they are the expression of the South of France and meet the wide variety of consumer expectations.

The cross of the Visigoths dates back to the 7th century and is the emblem of Gérard Bertrand wines. The doves drinking from the cup symbolise sharing and communion. This cross is in fact the first version of what was to become the Languedoc cross many centuries later.

Languedoc Vineyards

Gérard Bertrand owns no fewer than five estates in the finest wine-growing areas of the Languedoc, and offers a range of select wines crafted on his long quest to bring out the best of their local character. The 450 hecatrs of vines on the estates express all the variety of the region and offer an extensive choice for different market segments. They are:

1. Domaine de Villemajou, Corbières-Boutenac (132 ha )
2. Château l’Hospitalet, Coteaux-du-Languedoc (79 ha)
3. Château Laville Bertrou, Minervois-La-Livinière (70 ha)
4. Domaine de l’Aigle near Limoux (29 ha)
5. Domaine Cigalus, Vin de Pays d’Oc (60 ha)
6. Château Aigues Vives (30 ha)

Turnover

Gérard Bertrand has been making heart-stirring wines for over 20 years and has carved out a place as a specialist in the premium wines of the South of France. These are select wines distributed by the company in France and on export markets covering 65 countries (100 planned in 2015).

The wine tourism business (hotel, restaurant, cultural events and local produce) brings in additional income. These figures show the great growth potential of this company with a rich past that remains true to its original values of quality and authenticity.

The event gathers 24 chefs representing 24 countries, who will ultimately pit their skills against each other in the largest gastronomic arena of the world in Lyon, France. The crème de la crème of chefs who have qualified their various Selections: Asia, Europe and Latin America, will compete against one another for the final Epicurean showdown. The event aims to broaden the public’s understanding and appreciation for the exceptional skill and precision required to be a master haute cuisine.

Mentoring Chef Nur Mohamad is none other than Chef Antoine Rodriguez, Executive Chef at Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. Chef Antoine was recently named Chef of the Year and King of Kitchens at the prestigious biennial Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) 2011 – 2013 Regional Series.
